Dear Wade Carpenter Middle School Parents,
I want to take this opportunity to welcome each and every one of you to another exciting and wonderful school year. Thank you to all the members of the Wade Carpenter Middle School community who have made me feel welcome and part of the school community since my first day on July 21. My experience includes having served as an elementary and middle school teacher. In addition, I have served as an elementary and middle school administrator in the Tucson Unified School District, and I have been fortunate to have worked for 18 years as an educator in the Tucson community.
I was born and raised in Tucson, Arizona, and I had the opportunity to serve as a council member for the city of South Tucson from 1998 to 2007. My BA was in general studies and business administration from Northern Arizona University in 1994, and I earned an MEd in educational leadership from Northern Arizona University in 2000. I completed my EdD in educational leadership with a law minor from the University of Arizona in 2009. The title of my dissertation was “The Superintendent’s Role in Promoting Relationships with Selected Stakeholders Groups in a Large Southwest Urban School District”.
Throughout our community, we want to do everything possible to support the Wade Carpenter Middle School mission of motivating our students, helping them to make responsible choices, demonstrating respectful behavior, and as a staff, having high expectations for academic success. My focus as your principal will be to listen, to build and establish relationships throughout the school community, and to share decision-making. This will be an ongoing process that will take one day at a time. By building leadership capacity with staff and families, we will experience personal and professional growth throughout Wade Carpenter Middle School.
At Wade Carpenter Middle School, we are all part of a great team focused on collaboration, optimum student achievement, building strong community partnerships, and making every decision based on what is best for students. Let’s make each day our masterpiece and focus on this year with passion and perseverance to make a positive difference in the lives of students and stakeholders throughout the Wade Carpenter Middle School Community.
